SLCC Gets A Domain
Published April 9th, 2008I’m a little late on this one, but for those who recall, in the past SLCC (Second Life Community Convention) has always had a time sensitive url. The one for last year was “http://slcc2007.wordpress.com”, but they finally bit the bullet and got their own domain, that being “http://slconvention.org”. The old website still exists, and they say it will remain up as an archive, but it’s nice to see them finally move over to a proper domain.
The site itself has a nice new theme to it as well. They’re still using Wordpress (And why not?), but the entire setup is much easier to navigate now, I know even I had trouble finding things on the site last year.
There’s still a few things they could add, like a site-map, perhaps a welcome message atop the blog posts on the home page (Right now it just says “Welcome to the home page of the Second Life Community Convention!”), and maybe a picture or two. Overall though it’s an improvement over what they had before and should help with organizing the convention this year (Which is in Tampa Florida on Sept. 5th – 7th).
I’m not involved in SLCC this year as I was last, but it should still prove to be an interesting show, as always. I wish the organizers luck.
