Second Convention is open to the public at large, no pre-registration is required and there is no fee to attend, the convention is open freely on a first come first serve basis. Spaces at the main venue can fill up quickly and as such there are several satellite locations people visit to communue with others and listen/watch the convention remotely (If an event does not have a live stream a DJ or live musician will perform for the crowds entertainment).
Visitors and press alike are free to take pictures and/or film or otherwise record the event if they wish, it is asked however if they do this, that they not interfere with the event or the enjoyment of others (By for example turning on silent snapshots and not standing in the view of others). Additionally if you do publish said footage anywhere we’d love to hear about it, so please use are contact form to let us know.

That said, the convention staff will take measures to provide the best quality experience for as many people as possible. This could mean that scripts and SL voice will be disabled, and a maximum attendance set at each venue. Overly primmy and thus laggy guests may be asked to detach excess items and disruptive individuals may be ejected from the grounds without notice (Though we will strive not to do this unless under extreme circumstances). Additionally, access to the property may be temporarily disabled even if under the set concurrency rate to abate lag or allow a staff member who has crashed to return to the venue before the slots are filled by visitors.
We realize that some of this may be frustrating to our visitors and apologize in advance, but please understand that the nature of Second Life is one of limited resources, and crashes happen. We are doing our best to provide alternative access at the satellite locations for those who can not attend the main event.
We highly recommend using the exceptionally stable Nicholaz viewer for Second Life, which has been proven to gracefully handle large crowds at prior conventions. You can find a post detailing the latest version of the Nicholaz client for Windows, Mac, and Linux and how to install it on the developers blog.
