ZATZAi Services provides expertise, management and design in virtual world presence and events. If your organization wants to utilize virtual worlds for inter-organization communication, public relations, rapid prototyping or product/service launches and conferences we have the technology and experience to guide and ensure smooth operations. ZATZAi Services can also assist in the ongoing care and management of an existing virtual-world presence or in the organization and implementation of events in the virtual realm (Including cross reality events taking place within a virtual world and real life alike). You’ll find more information about what we do on our Services page.
In addition to this, ZATZAi services also provides resources for consumers and communities within virtual worlds, primarily Second Life. This can range from virtual real estate to venues for activities and the hosting of community oriented events and conventions. Our close and direct relationship with the everyday consumer allows us to better connect large organizations with everyday people.
ZATZAi is pronounced “ZAT” like “Cat” but with a “Z” instead of the “C” and “ZAi” like “Hi” but with a “Z” instead of the “H” sound.
We’ve managed several virtual and cross-reality events ranging in size from small to large. We’ve also designed and built several areas, venues, technologies and methodologies to best interact with the public both within virtual worlds and on the greater internet. You’ll find more information on our Projects page.
Virtual worlds are just what the name implies, a digital (And usually online) interactive realm that is similar to the reality we know and live in today. These are not video games, though games can be created within them, so much as they are a new kind of communication platform. Second Life is currently the most popular and extensible of the virtual world platforms available, and the only one to develop a communication API to allow connections between itself and other compatible virtual world platforms.
Virtual worlds are excellent for collaberation and rapid protyping. A proof of concept of an idea or product can be quickly and economically developed and then vetted amongst peers or the public at large. It’s also a fun place to relax and interact with friends across the globe as if you were in the same room with them.
The advantages of virtual worlds over reality or simple modelling is that it is both economical compared to other mediums and interactive. Allowing for easy and quick experimentation, feedback and retooling of ideas.
Virtual worlds tend to be populated by and large by relatively afluent adults (Due to the cost of the hardware to use a virtual world), and demographics show that the older the person the more time they spend within these realms. Ages range from as low as 18 up past 45, with the vast majority of users being over 25 years of age.
Many people use virtual worlds for theirĀ down time, instead of television or other recreational activities. This is a chance to capture eyeballs that would otherwise be lost and engage them in an innovative and interactive (Non-Passive) manner that is more likely to be retained.
Like any industry, virtual worlds have several regular conventions that are held around the world. Like any conference, this is a chance for businesses to present ideas, and to network with each other and the press. These events range in scale and cost widely, some are community driven, some developer driven, and some business driven and while many take place in the real world some perhaps appropriately take place in virtual worlds as well (Or both concurrently).
